Brick #2: The Inkland Empire ( What is it?)

The Inkland Empire is the name of MY Empire. I took the name from an area of California called the Inland Empire that's east of my current residency.East of my "joint".East of my home.

Whatever.

I thought of naming it that so that you, the reader, can identify with the Empire I'm building.My Empire currently consists of :

1. This blog
2. Inky Mann's World (formerly known as Inqronicles)
3. The Dummy Sauce blog and videos
4. The Undadog Hip Hop blog and Facebook page
5. The rebuilding of my clan - The Undadog Family (UdF) 
6. An Amazon store I'm developing..and..
7. Life

I went so far as making a flag for it as well..

The colors have meaning , as well:

• The Gold for the Wealth I'll be acquiring
• The Green for the money it takes to accumulate the Wealth

Brick #1: Starting from Scratch...again

After some consultation and review (thanks, Pop), I've decided to "rebuild" my Empire - The Inkland Empire!

Procrastination is a helluva drug symptom..Yep, DRUG SYMPTOM!

I had to take stock in what I was/wasn't doing. I was confusing my fans!I wasn't defining what I was doing.I was all over the place. I wasn't in ONE spot. I was doing a daily video blog with the same name as THIS blog! I wasn't writing for THIS blog.

To make matters worse, I've been through this a few times.As a matter of fact, see for yourself here and here.Crazy, right?

I even set goals:

What am I doing?

I figured it out...I think! LOL! I have fans for different reasons, so, I need to build separate communities.I learned this from doing research on Professional bloggers of all sorts.That's what THEY do. This will require A LOT of work...I'm up for it!It's gonna take carefully planned posts scheduled for future publication.Consistent building of the separate communities.Interaction.Weekly insights and metrics readings.Action.Possibly hiring a staff.

I was focusing on making money, so, I was half ass setting up shit that needs to be complete and consistent. I need to do this for the love of building MY communities, the money will come later. When I was doing Hip Hop (Rap) music, I'd record, write, produce, be in the studios ALL NIGHT.I was paying for studio sessions with my own money! I loved it! I know now that if I would've monetized what I was doing THEN, I would be WEALTHY by now! I love blogging just as much..AND I'm old enough to know better

I've come up with a plan and I'm gonna carry it out. YOU are gonna watch me do this (if you're up for it, you know you are, though!).Get you some popcorn, sit yo'ass down and watch the movie-The Inkland Empire (rated NC-17).

This blog will be about entrepreneurship, becoming a MOGUL (as the blog name suggests) and just all around hustling. I'll take you on a weekly journey of me building my Empire, interviews of all types of business owners and Movers and Shakers.I want you to hold me responsible and use this as a way to get your stuff off the ground.

I tweaked the Facebook Ad for AHAWR. After running an ad that was widely targeted, I took the metrics from a week of doing that and changed the audience.

I'm now targeting Men and Women aged 18 - 44 years old, living within a 50 mile radius of my hometown. I also went after Parents, lovers of pop culture, food & dining, ALL mobile users( with iPads and various tablets hitting the market, this is important),and a few other variables.

Let's see what happens..

Went whale watching with the Missus for Mother's Day.Whale watching!I can scratch that off my "bucket list", now.I've been wanting to do that for more than 10 years, now.My wife invited me as a gift to her.It was GREAT!

Before we went we stopped off at the Kobey's Swap Meet in San Diego.We're walking around killing time before our adventure and who do we see at there-selling stuff nonetheless - David Hester from Storage Wars!

Today I decided to pay off my Facebook Ad debt and run a campaign for the A Husband and Wife Review Facebook Page. Just yesterday, the Wife and I discussed really getting into AHAWR  to make a living. We’re gaining a good following and with a lil’ more “elbow grease” we can sell products and begin building a solid foundation.

See, we’re “Empty Nesters”, so, we can do this. We are GOING to do this! One step at a time.

The first step: advertising. Supposedly, the ad should reach about 34,000+.I’ll keep ya posted.

I finally found a formula to stick with for UDHH. Each week, I spotlight all four Elements of Hip Hop through videos, links, downloads, reviews and interviews. I've gained a subscriber, too. Now I must build my list while I build my site with valuable content.

Getting some beers for our personal celebration of the day we ( Me and the Wife) checked into a Red & White to buy some TenFidy's. While there and looking at the beers an employee named Eric, apparently into beers, told us about a beer mixture.They had one part of it, but not the other.So, I will be going back to get that.Sounds like a review.

The Holiday shows for Dummy Sauce and A Husband and Wife Review went up.These shows along with the Facebook ad and links are gaining subscribers on all three channels:

I reviewed our AHAWR YouTube metrics and found us at 13,292 views! Let the monetization begin! My tools will be Google AdSense and Commission Junction.

For some reason, the theme of writing your own eBook keeps passing by me. I've read.I've dreamt it. Hmmm...This would be another notch in my belt.Another title conquered!

Tomorrow makes one week that the Facebook ads have been running.Based on the metrics, I'll be changing my target.

Monetization tactics for AHAWR and Dummy Sauce have begun.Plus, a lil' designing, as well.

Crime Don’t Pay (Part 2)

What up?

If you remember I had to go to San Diego Superior Courtover a ticket I received. That story took place early August. In that exchange, I had a follow up court date.

If you go to the link above, you’ll read how crazy that day was. All the craziness I had to endure. Well, here’s the follow up to the crazy "shizz".

1.       I’m on the first bus to the first train and a woman who calls herself “G.G” gets on the bus saying “Hello. Good morning”, to all the riders on the bus. Turns out she was a former “Gangster Girl” turned “God’s Girl”. One thing I learned from my Mom is that sometimes people that are seen as crazy, can be Angels in disguise. Out of nowhere she asks me if I had lunch money with a five dollar bill in hand extended to me. “I’m good”, I replied. My stomach was growling like a “mofo” because I was in a hurry and didn’t make myself breakfast. After a little bit of the hunger pangs, I asked her if she was still offering and took the money. I’m sure I’ll see her on the bus again…Would YOU do something like that? If so, why? If not, why?

2.       I call up one of my boys, “Moon”, to see how he was doing. Really, I was returning a call he made to me a few days before. When I called him he was talking erratically. After q few questions, he revealed he was sleep. I hung up. Thirty seconds later, he calls back twice and keeps telling me, “Something’s weird. Something ain’t right! What’s going on?” I begin asking him why he’s asking ME what’s wrong with HIM, but all he does is repeat the same phrases. He won’t get any deeper than that. I let him go. Hung up.

3.       I’m waiting in line to see what court I’ll be in and the actor who plays” Big Worm” ( from the movie Friday, Faison Love) gets in line. I wanted a picture, maybe even an autograph for proof. He didn’t look too happy, but then, we were in court so who would? That was a “fail”.

After going through all that, I now have to pay $500 for the ticket and didn’t get to work until 2 hours before the end of the day. Once again, Crime Don’t Pay!

Hey!

How is ya? I’m DAMN good. I’m feeling real groovy off this UV Pink Lemonade Vodka mixed with my life. Not a bad mix.

If you read my last post, you can see I’m getting a little more personal with my writing. This is what you wanna read, right? This is why you come to this particular blog out of ALL the blogs that exist out there that you can be reading at this very moment (which I thank you for). I’m glad you came (as the group The Wanted says!).

There has been a little bit of self-discovery going on and I DON’T mind sharing it with you. After all, I started blogging to actually share my experiences on the West Coast with my East Coast family/friends and it grew! All I did was talk about ME. I MUST BE INTERESTING TO SOMEBODY/SOMEBODIES .

Anyway, this blog has to do with someone I know, but at the “same damn time” I know quite a few guys like this. The video says it all. Watch it. I cover quite a lot.

I’m starting to network with the right people. I’m learning to filter out junk. I’m getting to be a little more efficient with it. I plan on making a good sum of money off it by December of this year. Why not? It can happen! It will happen. I wil WILL IT to happen. I will MAKE it happen. I MUST make it happen. I’m ready to live life the way I’m supposed to live it.

My mind is “clear” and I see life for what it should be for me… I stay up late and/ or get up early throughout the week to make this a reality! That is what “putting your nose to the grindstone” is all about!...y’all don’t hear me though…so…
